Melinda and Nathan: Talk About a Happy Meal!
/The Story
Melinda and Nathan have known each other since high school, but their romance didn’t begin until 5 years ago when they happened to run into each other at a McDonald’s-- talk about about a happy meal! When it came to their engagement, Nathan left nothing up to chance. Melinda tells us of his proposal, which happened while touring Critter County, a small zoo in Smithton, PA. The morning of the day they were to be hosting Nathan’s family reunion, they took a behind the scenes tour where Melinda got to hold monkeys, and pet animals like leopards and tigers. (She’s always been an animal lover.) When they got to the bear cage, Nathan asked if she’d like to feed the bears. When she said yes, he left and returned with a barrel of apples (a nod to Melinda, who is a school teacher) with a sign that said “I could ‘bearly’ wait to ask…” and he got down on one knee. After Nathan placed the ring on Melinda’s finger, her sister and nieces showed up at the bear exhibit, the little ones wearing shirts that said “Can Nate Be Our Uncle?” and “She Said Yes!”
Better yet, the family reunion Nate had been so worried about was actually a surprise engagement party where Melinda had a blast showing off her new 14k white gold ring to all her family and friends
The Ring
She absolutely loves the 1k princess cut diamond with 5 stones on each side that Nathan chose for her.
The Happily Ever After
Melinda and Nathan will exchange vows at Festival Hall in Seven Springs on September 5, 2020. Their rustic theme is sure to make for a beautiful late summer wedding. Congratulations to you both!
