Bob & Cassie: 13 Years in the Making!
/The Story
We waited 13 years! We met in the spring of 2006 at a bowling alley through mutual friends, but didn’t start dating until that fall. I picked out my ring setting around 2013 and periodically, he would ask me if that was the ring I still wanted and it was. We were never in a rush to get married but always knew we would. We wanted to accomplish a lot of things first, such as buying our first home which took us years to find (starting to see a pattern here?)
We were enjoying our new home with our two beagles for a little over a year when Bob began insisting on a trip to New York City over Christmas. The first night in the city, he said he had dinner reservations for us. When we arrived, they took us through an average office building, where they opened the door to the rooftop.
There were candles, a Christmas tree, music playing and “Marry Me?” front and center in giant marquee letters. He dropped down to one knee presenting my dream ring to me (which was even more beautiful than I could ever imagine) and of course, I said yes!
He had rented out a rooftop right across the street from the Empire State Building, equipped with champagne, roses, and a photographer who would pop in and out to take our photos while we took it all in. We finished our night with a carriage ride through Central Park and Fifth Avenue to see the Christmas displays. We plan on marrying in the fall of 2021!
The Ring
Cassie’s new engagement ring is a stunning Verragio 18k white and rose gold mounting with a cushion cut diamond in the center, surrounded by a beautiful halo of diamonds for extra sparkle.
